This specially designed 6 week course will start by explaining what Aikido is and how it differs from other martial arts that you may know.
Over the weeks you will be carefully guided through how to breakfall properly and the basic body movements that are unique to Aikido. Aikido is a martial art involving a wide range of techniques that can be used to throw or immobilise an opponent and it helps the to develop fitness, confidence, improve balance and movement. Aikido is suitable for both men & women of all ages, as the principles rely on correct execution of the technique rather than brute strength.
Our beginners’ courses are held in a safe, well run environment. Our instructors hold British Aikido Board coaching qualifications and insurance. Our club is a member of Aikido Development Society
Beginners courses are an excellent way to try Aikido. Our beginners courses last six weeks and covers all the basic elements. Beginners Course for 6 weeks is £60 – £50 for students or unemployed (if pre-booked) .
Includes insurance and annual membership to the ADS (normally £20 per year.)
